We are delighted to announce the publication of an independent Feasibility Study for a Borders National Park. We are pleased that the Study strongly endorses the feasibility and socio-economic benefits of a National Park in the Scottish Borders. We wish to emphasise that this is an independent study, which is a thorough and outstanding piece of work which we strongly commend to you. However, the Campaign does not necessarily agree with all of its recommendations. A statement of the Campaign's position is being prepared and will be published shortly. This is just the beginning of a process however. We urge stakeholders and other interested parties to give us their comments on this Feasibility Study. The study can be downloaded from this page as a whole or in parts.
As stated above, the Campaign Group would publish our own Position Statement. This is a pdf document which can be downloaded from the link below:
This Economic Impact Study was produced for Scottish Borders Council (SBC) at their request and has been submitted to them for consideration. As the creation of a Scottish Borders National Park is now discussed as an item for consultation in the SBC Main Issues Report 2018, we have published this Study here for open access. This is a pdf document which can be downloaded from the link below:
